Getting the Most of of Your Volunteers
Volunteers are the lifeblood of any therapeutic riding center.Learn the basics of recruiting through the community and the internet in this interactive session. Discover tried and true methods of celebrating volunteers and increasing your retension. Listen to others experiences about how they have been sucessful at creating and maintaining their volunteer army.

Equine Assisted Wellness
As we look at ways to boost revenue and keep moving forward incorporating wellness principles into programming can inspire relevant new ideas. We will cover strategies for both the mental and physical aspects of riding. Beginning with warm up stretches including Yoga on Horseback to improve balance, seat and feel. Then moving into visualizations and Riding with Attention techniques to address attention span and body awareness. Other tools pulled from popular methods such as Brain Gym, Emotional Freedom Technique, Centered Riding and others will complete the tool bag. Through these techniques, instructors and coaches can address a variety of issues with riders and clients including stress reduction, fear and training plateaus.

Neuromuscular Disorders
Neuromuscular diseases strike more than 1.5 million Americans every year. Children and adults with these chronic diseases are routinely participating in equine assisted activities including therapeutic riding. Understanding the various types of neuromuscular diseases, the functional and cognitive limitations encountered, and emotional impact on the family can help therapeutic riding instructors maximize the benefits that each participant experiences during their riding session.
